On day 2 and 3 we ate at the Gold Lounge for breakfast which was like everything else super amazing. There is a buffet out and access to drinks and snacks all day and I would definitely recommend adding that to your trip. We ate lunch and dinner at just about all of the restaurants on the resort and every single meal was amazing. Specifically on that night we had dinner at Toro which was amazing… the dessert was this ice cream and chocolate concoction that they literally drop like a bomb on your table it was ridiculous and awesome. Oh and I should mention every single restaurant had a kids menu so there was no where on the resort we didn’t feel welcome with the girls.Read More
Okay I have to confess we have seriously overlooked Boulder Colorado. When Ben and I were dating we went and walked around a few times but never gave this city the attention it deserves! This past weekend we went and spent a few days exploring Boulder with the girls and it was so much fun! I grossly underestimated the charm of this city and now kind of consider it the Portland Oregon of Colorado. I had a few people who watched my Instagram stories while we were there ask for recommendations on what to do SO here is all the things we did and my general thoughts on them. We loved Boulder and will be back so if you have any recommendations of your own or questions about anywhere we went please, please, please comment below!Read More
If you are like me the first thing you did when you saw the title of this blog post was say, "Wait. where is Ruidoso, New Mexico?" I think I spent an entire two weeks before our trip Googling everything I could find about Ruidoso because I had never heard of it and didn't want to miss anything! Ruidoso is in the Sierra Blanca Mountain range in New Mexico — and it is exactly as beautiful as it sounds. With hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, skiing in the winter, and really interesting historical sites, there was no way we would run out of things to do. The easiest way to get to Ruidoso is to fly in to one of the closest airports. For us, it was Albuquerque, though El Paso, Texas is another one that isn't far away. It was about a 55-minute direct flight from Denver and then a three-hour drive to Ruidoso, which is southeast of Albuquerque.Read More
If you have followed us for any length of time you know we like to road trip! Having just finished up a Southwest road trip and getting ready for a Northwest trip in September I thought it might be time to share some of our road trip secrets and the general things we tend to do to make sure a trip is successful. Almost every single time we head out I get a million direct messages asking where we are staying, how we found good coffee, and how we manage to road trip and have fun with two small children. SO whether you are planning a road trip this summer or not if you have ever thought about packing your little ones up in the car and heading out this is the post for you! I should mention this post is sponsored by Firestone Auto Care AND all thoughts are my own.Read More
In case you missed all our excitement and a ridiculous amount of beach stories on Instagram (if you want to see them still you can find our stories in our highlights under the highlight "travel" HERE) We went to Florida! This was honestly the first time I had been to Florida since I was 12 AND the girls first time ever so it was a huge deal! We spent the weekend exploring Panama City Beach and Jessamyn might ask when we are going back every single day... I am not exaggerating. I got a lot of messages about Panama City Beach and traveling with kids so I thought I would give you a quick recap incase you want to try this trip as well or are looking for a good getaway spot with small children.
If you follow us on Instagram you know we went on a road trip last month and it was absolutely amazing. I am going to be documenting the things we did in each stop and this is part one. Moab is about a 5 to 6 hour drive from Denver and the logical first stop on our trip. We left mid day and stopped multiple times for coffee... because 5 hours may seem like a short drive but throw in two babies.. one who is kind of potty training and yeah we stopped a few times along the way. This was our first time to Moab and I was so excited and may have gone overboard on the research ahead of time! SO here are 5 things we did with a 6 month old and a three year old along...Read More
Skiing season is coming to an end for this year and I am honestly kind of sad. This as our first real ski season... I mean both Ben and I had been skiing before but this was our first year with season passes and Jessamyn's first time skiing ever. As I documented our skiing adventures one of the main things I as asked again and again was if driving up to Copper Mountain was worth it (That is where we had our season passes) and what to do up there. SO even though ski season is coming to a close I wanted to put together a little 24 hour itinerary so that if you are thinking of going next year (or I suppose getting in one last minute trip this year) and coming from the Denver area you will have an idea of what to do for one day! Ps. We did all of this with small kids but you could totally adjust this and just go by yourself or with friends and have as much or more fun in just 24 hours!Read More
Okay SO if you have been following us on Instagram you have seen the dreamy photos, the excited stories, and the general beauty (hopefully) that is exploring new places. What you haven't seen though is the behind the scenes stuff, the drama, tantrums, blown out diapers, and extreme amounts of throw up that have unfortunately encompassed most of this trip. It started shortly after we left Zion Jessamyn began throwing up every hour on the hour... and of course because she is three refused to let me hold a bag for her to throw up in... so Ben drove and I spent 90% of that day cleaning up Jessamyn and the car, and myself with baby wipes.Read More
