Okay lets talk going on a cruise… for a lot of people it is maybe something they have done once for their honeymoon, or heard stories of from their parents who are retired and cruise, or have friends who work on cruse ships BUT maybe you fit none of those categories…. maybe you have kids and are wondering if it would even be enjoyable to go on a cruise OR if it would be a week of being trapped in a giant ship with your small children wishing you had just done a road trip or stayed home and sent the kids to their grandparents while you went on a date night and called it a vacation…. This post is for you!!!! We went on not one but two cruises last year for the first time with the girls and I have put together everything I learned from that experience. I honestly wasn’t sure if cruising with kids would be fun but since going am now firmly convinced that cruising may be the most relaxing way to travel especially with kids.Read More
On day 2 and 3 we ate at the Gold Lounge for breakfast which was like everything else super amazing. There is a buffet out and access to drinks and snacks all day and I would definitely recommend adding that to your trip. We ate lunch and dinner at just about all of the restaurants on the resort and every single meal was amazing. Specifically on that night we had dinner at Toro which was amazing… the dessert was this ice cream and chocolate concoction that they literally drop like a bomb on your table it was ridiculous and awesome. Oh and I should mention every single restaurant had a kids menu so there was no where on the resort we didn’t feel welcome with the girls.Read More
Okay I have to confess we have seriously overlooked Boulder Colorado. When Ben and I were dating we went and walked around a few times but never gave this city the attention it deserves! This past weekend we went and spent a few days exploring Boulder with the girls and it was so much fun! I grossly underestimated the charm of this city and now kind of consider it the Portland Oregon of Colorado. I had a few people who watched my Instagram stories while we were there ask for recommendations on what to do SO here is all the things we did and my general thoughts on them. We loved Boulder and will be back so if you have any recommendations of your own or questions about anywhere we went please, please, please comment below!Read More
Hey! Oh my gosh I am so excited to write this blog post… I want to just be completely transparent this wasn’t something we saw coming, actually this was a spur of the moment decision that has become so beautiful and amazing and I am so excited about it. For anyone who doesn’t know about when we previously converted a school bus into a tiny home you can find all those blog posts HERE and a Youtube tour of that bus HERE. A little over a year ago now we sold that first bus (someone in Hawaii actually bought it and had it shipped out). Since then we have lived in two apartments and now our aframe WHICH we are not getting rid of… I just feel like I need to say that up front the aframe is still our home and also the 5 acres it sits on happens to be the perfect place to park our new bus when we aren’t using it. To full understand why we decided to move back into the bus I need to give a little back story…..Read More
If you are like me the first thing you did when you saw the title of this blog post was say, "Wait. where is Ruidoso, New Mexico?" I think I spent an entire two weeks before our trip Googling everything I could find about Ruidoso because I had never heard of it and didn't want to miss anything! Ruidoso is in the Sierra Blanca Mountain range in New Mexico — and it is exactly as beautiful as it sounds. With hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, skiing in the winter, and really interesting historical sites, there was no way we would run out of things to do. The easiest way to get to Ruidoso is to fly in to one of the closest airports. For us, it was Albuquerque, though El Paso, Texas is another one that isn't far away. It was about a 55-minute direct flight from Denver and then a three-hour drive to Ruidoso, which is southeast of Albuquerque.Read More
If you have followed us for any length of time you know we like to road trip! Having just finished up a Southwest road trip and getting ready for a Northwest trip in September I thought it might be time to share some of our road trip secrets and the general things we tend to do to make sure a trip is successful. Almost every single time we head out I get a million direct messages asking where we are staying, how we found good coffee, and how we manage to road trip and have fun with two small children. SO whether you are planning a road trip this summer or not if you have ever thought about packing your little ones up in the car and heading out this is the post for you! I should mention this post is sponsored by Firestone Auto Care AND all thoughts are my own.Read More
In case you missed all our excitement and a ridiculous amount of beach stories on Instagram (if you want to see them still you can find our stories in our highlights under the highlight "travel" HERE) We went to Florida! This was honestly the first time I had been to Florida since I was 12 AND the girls first time ever so it was a huge deal! We spent the weekend exploring Panama City Beach and Jessamyn might ask when we are going back every single day... I am not exaggerating. I got a lot of messages about Panama City Beach and traveling with kids so I thought I would give you a quick recap incase you want to try this trip as well or are looking for a good getaway spot with small children.
If you follow us on Instagram you know we went on a road trip last month and it was absolutely amazing. I am going to be documenting the things we did in each stop and this is part one. Moab is about a 5 to 6 hour drive from Denver and the logical first stop on our trip. We left mid day and stopped multiple times for coffee... because 5 hours may seem like a short drive but throw in two babies.. one who is kind of potty training and yeah we stopped a few times along the way. This was our first time to Moab and I was so excited and may have gone overboard on the research ahead of time! SO here are 5 things we did with a 6 month old and a three year old along...Read More
