Okay so let’s just be real here this is a blog post about a tooth brush… I know your probably thinking wow she has lost it writing a blog post about a tooth brush BUT hear me out. When Ben and I were dating a good amount of time was spent with me picking him up or waiting for him at dentist appointments (I use to bring him a bag of gummy candy that he obviously couldn’t eat because his mouth was so sore from dental work but it was to remind him that it was worth it and he would someday be able to eat them again). He went for the first time in I think he said 7 years or something crazy like that and basically half my memories from our dating months are of the horrible experience that was for him. It made me go out and buy a new tooth brush, mouth wash, floss, and everything else I thought could help me not have to have a similar experience with going to the dentist because I am going to be honest I am always terrified. SO when Philips Sonicare reached out asking if we wanted to try their DiamondClean toothbrush I said yes mostly because I hadn’t updated my toothbrush in almost 5 years (Literally since that time when we were dating… which is horrifying considering I live in fear of the dentist) and also because I had heard some good things about this tooth brush and wanted to try it out for myself. SO yes yes yes this post is sponsored but it is all my thoughts and experience and a blog post about a tooth brush that I never expected to write but here we are!Read More
If you are like me the first thing you did when you saw the title of this blog post was say, "Wait. where is Ruidoso, New Mexico?" I think I spent an entire two weeks before our trip Googling everything I could find about Ruidoso because I had never heard of it and didn't want to miss anything! Ruidoso is in the Sierra Blanca Mountain range in New Mexico — and it is exactly as beautiful as it sounds. With hiking, canoeing, horseback riding, skiing in the winter, and really interesting historical sites, there was no way we would run out of things to do. The easiest way to get to Ruidoso is to fly in to one of the closest airports. For us, it was Albuquerque, though El Paso, Texas is another one that isn't far away. It was about a 55-minute direct flight from Denver and then a three-hour drive to Ruidoso, which is southeast of Albuquerque.Read More
In case you missed all our excitement and a ridiculous amount of beach stories on Instagram (if you want to see them still you can find our stories in our highlights under the highlight "travel" HERE) We went to Florida! This was honestly the first time I had been to Florida since I was 12 AND the girls first time ever so it was a huge deal! We spent the weekend exploring Panama City Beach and Jessamyn might ask when we are going back every single day... I am not exaggerating. I got a lot of messages about Panama City Beach and traveling with kids so I thought I would give you a quick recap incase you want to try this trip as well or are looking for a good getaway spot with small children.
Okay SO if you have been following us on Instagram you have seen the dreamy photos, the excited stories, and the general beauty (hopefully) that is exploring new places. What you haven't seen though is the behind the scenes stuff, the drama, tantrums, blown out diapers, and extreme amounts of throw up that have unfortunately encompassed most of this trip. It started shortly after we left Zion Jessamyn began throwing up every hour on the hour... and of course because she is three refused to let me hold a bag for her to throw up in... so Ben drove and I spent 90% of that day cleaning up Jessamyn and the car, and myself with baby wipes.Read More
Every weekend we try and go somewhere… anywhere, just outdoors to explore and be together. As Jessamyn and Ophelia get older we want them to look back on their childhood and remember moments of traveling and just being together outdoors and in all seasons. Lately I have been capturing these moments and uploading them to our Joy Album so we can look back on them throughout the week and retell the adventures and stories of the previous weekend.Read More
These are our first photos as a family of four and I am completely in love... basically if Jordan of Jordan Brooke Photography suggests you drive into the mountains to a lake that is only open part of the year... after rescheduling due to a crazy snow storm... you say YES every single time. This photo shoot was absolutely magical in every single way Jordan is amazing, talented, and I could not be happier with how these photos came out.Read More
Okay so this post is a bit late... quite a bit late but we went to Crested Butte for our four year anniversary in February and I wanted to share a bit with you. Nothin fancy just a few of the places we went and some thoughts on Crested Butte as a destination. One thing worth noting is that we did not actually ski which I know going to a mountain town in the middle of winter and not skiing is kind of crazy but I am pregnant and Jessamyn is still a bit too small for skiing so we just went and relaxed and enjoyed the snow. We actually went on our honey moon in Alaska and it was kind of romantic to go back to a mountain town for our anniversary.Read More
