Your having a second baby, you have a single stroller you love but you know there really isn't a good way to cram two babies in there. Yeah you might wear your new baby in a sling or carrier for a while but do you really want to wear them all the time? But wait.... double strollers are bulky, heavy, awkward... yeah okay you can just make the single stroller work. BUT WAIT... CUE Disney Land... you put your 6 month old baby in the single stroller because you are also chasing your 3 year old around. It is hot, tiring, your 3 year old is starting to melt down... her feet hurt, her legs are too heavy to walk, BUT you already have a 6 month old asleep in your single stroller what do you do? if you actually are me and lived this situation you put your 3 year old shamelessly into the basket under the stroller so she can take a nap and you can watch people snicker and giggler at you as you walk around Disney for the rest of the day. NOT ideal but hey it did the trick. SO let me ask again is that double stroller sounding good right about now?Read More
I am not sure if you have joined the linen craze BUT I have and today I am sharing a brand with you that I am basically obsessing over for basics. I did a closet purge recently and have really been hanging on to the idea of having really good basics as a foundation for your wardrobe SO when I heard about this brand I was super excited. Linenstitch is a brand that sells four pieces of clothing all made out of linen and tencel fabric. Tencel is made from natural cellulose found in wood pulp and is biodegradable and super breathable! Also linen is know for only getting better with age so between the two fabrics these are four pieces of clothing that are built to last!Read More
I am coming up on a year postpartum with Ophelia and wow has it been different. With Jessamyn I trained and ran a full marathon at 6 months postpartum. With Ophelia I planned on doing the same thing but to be honest that didn't really happen. Actually my entire postpartum workout plan kind of went out the window as I grossly underestimated life with two kids AND how hard pushing a double stroller down the road for miles and miles would be. I however think postpartum fitness is important and for more than the physical benefits. For me working out is in many ways almost a form of therapy and keeps me mentally healthy so finding a routine that worked with two kids was more than just for the vanity of trying to lose the baby weight and fit into my jeans again! I found a couple things that work and have helped me along the way....Read More
If you have followed us for any length of time you know we like to road trip! Having just finished up a Southwest road trip and getting ready for a Northwest trip in September I thought it might be time to share some of our road trip secrets and the general things we tend to do to make sure a trip is successful. Almost every single time we head out I get a million direct messages asking where we are staying, how we found good coffee, and how we manage to road trip and have fun with two small children. SO whether you are planning a road trip this summer or not if you have ever thought about packing your little ones up in the car and heading out this is the post for you! I should mention this post is sponsored by Firestone Auto Care AND all thoughts are my own.Read More
About three months ago we bought a cabin in the mountains. We broke the lease on our apartment, packed up everything we owned, and moved hours away from the city we lived and work in. This cabin is by no means perfect, it definitely has flaws, is probably too small for us... BUT we love every single inch of it and could not be happier with our decision to move. I have been getting so many questions and requests on Instagram to see the interior of the cabin and to know how we live in such a small space SO here is a little photo tour and what we have done with the place so far. We are honestly working on a very limited budget so the cabin is what it is flaws and all. Someday we have big plans to fix a few things and paint but for now this is home and we are so completely in love.Read More
In case you missed all our excitement and a ridiculous amount of beach stories on Instagram (if you want to see them still you can find our stories in our highlights under the highlight "travel" HERE) We went to Florida! This was honestly the first time I had been to Florida since I was 12 AND the girls first time ever so it was a huge deal! We spent the weekend exploring Panama City Beach and Jessamyn might ask when we are going back every single day... I am not exaggerating. I got a lot of messages about Panama City Beach and traveling with kids so I thought I would give you a quick recap incase you want to try this trip as well or are looking for a good getaway spot with small children.
Okay serious note can anyone remember the last time I did a style post? Yeah me either so as summer approaches and the dm's about where we shop pile up I figured now was as good a time as any to start them up again! I am really excited about this one because it is a brand you can order from home which with us living now 2 hours from the closest city being able to shop online has basically become the only way new style makes its way into our home. If you haven't noticed by my instagram I am also on a serious shoe kick and actually the number one item asked about in my dm's is shoes so this post is for everyone looking for a good summer shoe... and everyone else who didn't realize it but is probably looking for a good summer shoe too!Read More
