One of my favorite fashion pieces right now is clogs... which I should add I am not terribly fashionable but wearing clogs somehow always makes me feel like my outfit is suddenly on point and ready for anything. I should also say I love clogs because seriously you are wearing heels but not... like you have all the benefits of wearing heels but none of the draw backs of falling over or potentially breaking a heel.. it is basically the best!

These are our first photos as a family of four and I am completely in love... basically if Jordan of Jordan Brooke Photography suggests you drive into the mountains to a lake that is only open part of the year... after rescheduling due to a crazy snow storm... you say YES every single time. This photo shoot was absolutely magical in every single way Jordan is amazing, talented, and I could not be happier with how these photos came out.

I spent the entire first month of Ophelia's life convinced I was dying. I didn't have any specific proof (except for a slightly suspicious lump in my left breast) but even though my husband, and doctor told me I was fine I spent everyday of her first month of life under a dark cloud. It wasn't that I wanted to be miserable, or even that I wanted to doubt the people around me but I couldn't stop the overwhelming panic and anxiety. I couldn't keep the loud voice in my head telling me again and again that I was not going to get to see my babies grow up at bay. And today I want to share this with you, because I don't think we talk enough about that first month postpartum and I think that needs to change.

This post has been a long time coming and is what I will be calling our "baby moon" even though yes we did bring Jessamyn along! When I think of a ski town I usually think of snow, fire pits, days spent skiing, and evenings spent drinking hot chocolate. So having never been to Copper Mountain and going in early August I wasn't sure what to expect! Especially being super pregnant and having a two year old along I just didn't know what we would even do with ourselves. Living in Denver it was only about a 2.5 hour drive and I was so excited for the chance to getaway and spend some time together before Ophelia made her appearance.
Read moreThird Trimester Things (A Pregnancy Update)
We are only 10 days away from our due date and it feels like time to recap this trimester because fingers crossed there will be a sweet little baby here soon! I naively thought this trimester would be easy since coming into it I was feeling really good and had tons of energy BUT the closer we get to my due date the longer the days get, the less I am sleeping, and the more I am understanding people who told me the end really drags out... not to complain but I was totally wrong in my earlier hope that this trimester would just fly by! The good news is we are so close and I cannot wait to meet this little girl. Even Jessamyn tonight was talking to my belly and saying "Come on, Hold you" which was basically the sweetest ever!

The last stop on our road trip! Having never been to San Francisco before I had no idea what to expect, but I definitely felt like exploring a brand new city would be a great way to end this epic trip we had been on for the past month. If you missed the last couple blog posts about this, you can find Montana HERE, Seattle HERE, and Portland HERE. We only spent two days in San Francisco so I would hardly call this a guide but I can definitely share the couple of things we did while visiting this city!

SO I pretty much only know how to make pie with bourbon in it... apple, pecan, and yes now cherry! I made this particular pie for the 4th of July but I am thinking it would work well in the Fall too because I mean can you really go wrong when there is bourbon and cherries involved? I've had people tell me in the past that they find pies intimidating to make and so I wanted to say up front this pie is super easy! The crust I swear by for every pie I make and it seriously takes no time to put together at all! If you have been putting off pie making try this one, seriously!!!!

Road Trip part three! If you missed the first two installments you can find Montana HERE and Seattle HERE. We planned the trip around Ben having to work while we were in Seattle but Portland... Portland was just for fun and oh my goodness did we have the best time ever. I titled this blog "Portland while pregnant" because honestly traveling while pregnant is a very different experience and for me involves a bit more intentional planning to make sure that I don't overdo it and also have a good time!
