A little over a week ago now we stayed in the Santa Suite at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and I am still glowing about it. Having never been to Scottsdale or even a Fairmont hotel we had no idea what to expect. This trip was super short notice so I didn’t even have time to google and try to plan out things to do, we literally showed up ready for anything! If you have never been to The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess keep reading, if you have ever wanted the ultimate Christmas experience that literally makes you feel like you are inside of a Christmas movie.. keep reading. I have never had such a magical and Christmas themed experience in my whole life in fact I am pretty sure nothing we ever do will top how completely awesome this Christmas memory was.
When we arrived at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess we were immediately greeted by Christmas decorations everywhere. Giant Christmas trees, and garlands, AND the most beautiful hotel dogs I have ever seen. Both girls went every day to say hi to Bigsby and Gibbs and that just did it for them on this trip. From there we checked in to our room and Jessamyn was given a special Christmas key to open the door. She held onto this key the entire weekend and carried it with her everywhere we went. The room was overwhelmingly gorgeous in the best way. There was a gingerbread village, Christmas music playing over a record player, cookies out, candy everywhere, and the most beautiful balcony with a view of one of the many hotel pools. The girls were in heaven and seriously I am not even positive we saw everything in that suite… our names were even on the bottles of soap and shampoo in the bathroom.
That first morning we ordered room service in which I highly recommend it was so relaxing. Ben had French toast, the girls had pancakes, and I had an omelette and it was just perfect. They even brought me extra avocado when I asked for it. We spent most of that… okay all of that first day wandering around the resort and swimming. There is a path that lights up at night with holiday lights that you can walk around, a train you can ride that takes you through a light show, an ice skating rink, and S’mores land which I should go into more detail about because it was legit awesome. That first night we had reserved a fire pit so we sat by the ice skating rink roasting s’mores and drinking hot chocolate. Ben took Jessamyn ice skating for a little while and it was so fun… like seriously thinking about it is making me feel at the magic Christmas feels.
On day 2 and 3 we ate at the Gold Lounge for breakfast which was like everything else super amazing. There is a buffet out and access to drinks and snacks all day and I would definitely recommend adding that to your trip. We ate lunch and dinner at just about all of the restaurants on the resort and every single meal was amazing. Specifically on that night we had dinner at Toro which was amazing… the dessert was this ice cream and chocolate concoction that they literally drop like a bomb on your table it was ridiculous and awesome. Oh and I should mention every single restaurant had a kids menu so there was no where on the resort we didn’t feel welcome with the girls.
The rest of our trip was spent between the many pools at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and S’mores land. S’mores land is kind of like an amusement park within the resort… in a really awesome way! There was a ferris wheel, ice slides that you could ride down on tubes, a carousel, and even a Build A Bear which both girls built animals and basically just walked around glowing the whole time. There are even fire pits out and you can purchase s’mores kits and roast marshmallows. It was genuinely the most awesome experience and we will be back!
I feel like I am forgetting something… but I think that is everything we did. It was a weekend full of giggles, a lot of hot chocolate, and really good food and memories, oh! That is what I forgot we were even welcomed with stocking with our names on them in the room. Every single detail was thought of, like literally I don’t think I would change one thing if I could. We loved our stay at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and I would recommend it and we will be back.
