Hey! Okay I this isn’t my normal style of post… actually I don’t know that I have ever covered my beauty routine BUT with Fall being totally here I felt like sharing some of my tips and current things I am trying to help combat the dryness that is coming with winter was worth sharing! This post is sponsored BUT BUT BUT these are my thoughts and opinions and honestly I wouldn’t have put this together if it wasn’t my own views and these were not products i am currently using (well most of them my husband actually stole some of them and took them to work with him sooooo I guess I am going to have to buy more). SO you may also be wondering why these are photos in a pumpkin patch and the answer is we have snow at the cabin… so much snow and since this is suppose to be Fall focused and not Winter (even though I guess winter is already here?) I felt like I needed to find a little Fall decor to keep that mood going rather than embracing the cold and snow that has come to the cabin. PS. I am totally excited for winter but I mean we aren’t even half way through October let’s not go there yet…..
I am going to start with hair because I feel like mine really suffers through the winter. I am super low maintenance with my hair I generally wear it up or down, don’t curl it, don’t color it (I do henna it but we can talk about that in another post and if you want to know how I do that let me know in the comments!), it is what it is. I will start to notice in the Fall that my ends start to look my brittle, everything is more tangled, dry, fragile… which is usually a good sign for me to switch to a more hydrating shampoo and conditioner. I have been using OGX Argan of Morocco Extra Shampoo & Conditioner which is perfect for dry, brittle, and damaged hair. I buy it at Rite Aid and honestly living so remote there really are very few stores around us so I love that I have found a good product close by. I will even put the conditioner on the ends of my hair just as a little extra boost to help moisture through out the day. Living at 9950 feet is no joke and between the thin air and the constant cold wind and now snow having products that will keep my hair from being totally destroyed by the changing season is so worth it.
This actual pairs right in with hair because this is another product from Rite Aid BUT my current body go to is AVEENO® Daily Moisturizing Lotion (fragrance free). I actually don’t have this product anymore because my husband stole it and took it to work with him because he loved it so much BUT lotion has become such a life saver for me as the season changes. Jessamyn calls it “ice cream” and is literally always rubbing it into her arms and even on her face. I really love having a good lotion around because with how cold and windy it is getting I feel like it really chaps our skin and especially the girls faces. One thing I like to do at night through the Fall and winter is put lotion on my feet (sorry if you find feet gross) and then put some good socks on so it really soaks in over night… my husband actually jokes that I have alligator feet through the winter SO this year I am starting now to combat that. ps. you probably didn’t need to know that but whatever hopefully I can help all the other alligator foot people out there too!
Oh! Also I forgot to mention but through the winter I like to use AVEENO® Positively Radiant® Skin Brightening Daily Scrub (i’ve actually mentioned this in a previous post) just because without the sunshine I feel like my skin gets so dull and being able to scrub all of that off and really feel fresh through the Fall and Winter is such a mood booster for me and really makes all the difference in such a small way.
This one is a little harder to share because it probably needs its own blog post BUT I use a lot of different things throughout the Fall on my face. Some of my favorites also come from Rite Aid but a lot of things I also make myself at home. If you are interested I would love to put a separate blog post together about that (just let me know in the comments). I think the key for me though is a good moisturizer, and really really good chap stick…. I make my own or I have a few go to brands I like to keep around because nothing is worse than chapped lips. I WILL do a separate post just on my face SO do leave any questions OR any good facial product suggestions in the comments below and I will put that together!
Okay so that is it! Really 90% of what I am using right now comes from Rite Aid! (which yes is because this is sponsored but also because we have really enjoyed using these products) Shopping at Rite Aid was super convenient (they are easy to navigate and always have the product I am looking for) AND they usually have a good promotion going… for example right now you can get Aveeno & OGX Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off (excl. Facial Moisturizers). SO this isn’t my normal style of post and I know that but I would love to hear what you do in the Fall and Winter for your beauty routine? What you think about these products? and/or what products you would recommend? Also I have a little giveaway going for two $50 Rite Aid gift cards all you have to do is leave a comment here and/or as another entry leave a comment on my Instagram post HERE! (I will pick two people and email you so make sure whatever email you comment with is current!)
