It is that time of the year again... and by that I mean time to find gifts and wrap presents! I am kind of an over excited gift giver meaning I like to find something unique, lovely, and most importantly that I think the person I am giving the gift to will actually love. SO this year for a gift guide since we are new parents (again... I think it totally still counts the second time right?) I thought it would be fun to put together a gift guide for new parents... these are items we have used and love that would make an awesome gift and are all from beautiful little shops I completely adore.
I should include up front that these items were gifted to us for this gift guide BUT all thoughts are my own and sponsored or not I genuinely use and love these products.
A Sling from Aloha and Light - Wearing Ophelia in a sling has become my very favorite way to carry her and the gift of baby wearing would make a perfect present for any new parent. Aloha and Light slings are designed with extra shoulder support which makes them incredibly comfortable AND they come pre softened which means you can literally open the package and go. Their linen slings are my favorite right now and all the patterns are seriously so dreamy and lovely. (I also have one in a red color and am so excited to wear it.. the richness of the color is just gorgeous). Baby wearing is something that I love because it really provides closeness, and with two kids ease for getting out and about. This would make an amazing gift for any new parent but especially a mama with more than one kid! OH and until December 31 you can use code LIGHTOFMINE to pay only $60 per sling if you buy two or more.
Oh and their slings are made in the USA which is another awesome win!
ps. The ring sling I am wearing is the Swoon eco baby ring sling and oh my gosh it is so soft and lovely.
A diaper bag from SoYoung - Okay I have tried a lot of diaper bags since having Jessamyn three years ago, this one is by far my favorite. It is the Waxed Charcoal Charlie Unisex Diaper Bag and would make a perfect gift for new parents. The main reason I love this bag is that Ben will carry it... what I mean by that is I have other diaper bags that I occasionally use but because of the girlier design Ben wont carry them because they look like a purse. This diaper bag on the other hand is perfect and goes with anything and great no matter what your style is or if your guy doesn't want to look like he is carrying your purse. One awesome feature about it is that it has an insulated food pocket and also just in general has several different compartments so you can really organize your things and keep baby stuff separate from say your wallet or anything else you might want to carry.
Oh and right now you can get free shipping on orders over $65!
A Welcome Baby Gift Set from Wild Wawa - We were actually given this for Ophelia when she was about a month old and I love it so much! The pieces are basic and would work for any baby, oh and are incredibly soft! Wild Wawa itself is such a lovely brand and has so many unique pieces you really can't go wrong but this gift set especially is so cute and comes in a sweet little pouch which would be perfect for gifting. Oh and it is also made from GOTS certified organic pima cotton and is hand made in Peru... so yeah the best.
Toddler or Transition set from Cutelery - Okay so Jessamyn has always been a pretty independent kid but has always struggled with feeding herself... these sets from Cutelery though have been such a life saver and brought her so much freedom and success in self feeding. They are for ages 12 months to 3 years and would make the perfect gift for parents with a small child or even better yet a new baby and say a 3 year old like we have. Cutelery is designed based on Montessori Pedagogy with a focus on self feeding and independence and also are quality products at a reasonable price.
These sets would honestly make a great stocking stuffer for a young child or just a gift for parents in general. Having Jessamyn at the table actively eating with us and feeding herself has brought a whole new level of fun and energy to our meals. She has always had to do everything just like us and having a spoon and fork that she can actually hold and use has just brought a whole new level of awesome to everything.
A Birth Poster from The Birth Poster - These are pretty awesome, like a poster to scale of your child from birth awesome (which is exactly what it is). This would make an amazing gift for new parents or really any parents at all. I have one for each girl and hung them over their beds... it is a sweet reminder of how small they started and how much they have grown. Each poster comes personalized with a design of your choice, the height and weight of your child, and their name. These posters are seriously the sweetest and would make an awesome gift.
