Recently we have been loving more and worrying less.
Recently we have been getting outside,
Finding ourselves in nature.
Recently we have been choosing life over fear.
Recently we have been.
One of my "mom goals" before having a child was to never let parenthood be my excuse for not doing something. I wanted life to go on, to continue in the beautiful way it was before having a child but with more color and of course brand new eyes experiencing everything with us. I have to say since having Jessamyn at times this goal has been hard to reach but the older she gets the more comfortable I have become with taking her on adventures and the more my perspective has shifted.
Now that I am a year and a half into motherhood I definitely would have to say my goals have changed a bit. Life has gone on... but it is different and rather than trying to continue in the way things were we have been finding new activities, new adventures, creating a new life as a family of three. The reality is that motherhood changes you and life cannot go back to the way it was before. Realizing this though has been so freeing and led to so many fabulous experiences and new opportunities.
Recently we have been hiking.
Finding new trails... making our own.
Recently we have been talking to all the dogs.
Eating all the animal crackers.
Finding all the best shady trees and tallest mountains.
Recently we have been alive in a new way.
On a journey we have only just begun.
But recently we have been, and that is enough.
On that same note of adventuring and trying new things in Motherhood I have to say our Newlie Satchel has been such a life saver. Before this bag I didn't really carry a diaper bag with me on a regular basis. I had one... but it was ugly and not terribly practical so it was often left at home (which definitely led to some awkward situations and a few diaper emergencies). Now though our Newlie satchel goes everywhere with us. It has room for all her needs and mine... including my DSLR camera and lenses. Basically it is beautiful, practical, and I have been taking it everywhere we go... even hiking and it has held up perfectly! Also can I just say again... it is gorgeous... it goes with everything and doesn't make me feel frumpy even if I am running out of the house in sweat pants!
Motherhood is such a journey and I feel like we all enter into it with so many plans and goals that often end up shifting down the road. I would love to hear what your current goals are? Or maybe where you are at now vs. what you thought motherhood would look like? Also if you have any practical motherhood adventure accessories I would love to hear about them! Being a mother is hard enough and honestly every little thing... even a beautiful but practical diaper bag can make a difference (or at least that has been my experience)!
