“The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
― Christopher McCandless
We bought a bus!!! (If the title for the blog didn't already give that away) We entered the bid on Sunday and won on Monday... oh my goodness this has been so crazy. Did I mention we hadn't even seen the busy before we bid on it? (It is beautiful by the way) but seriously this might be one of the craziest things we have ever done.....
Ben drove the bus home and all the way I kept looking at it and going, "oh my goodness we own that bus, this is our bus, oh my goodness." I think the shock might stick around for a while. The good news is we have a lot to do and so this state of shock will probably wear off quickly as we start tearing out bus seats and framing in walls. Oh yeah and maybe seeing if HGTV wants to come document this whole experience... A girl can wish right?
So what now? Well tonight we are dreaming... hanging out in the bus... talking about what should go where... panicking a little. The first step is to tear out the seats and then paint the outside! Ps. if you have any color suggestions let me know because painting this bus feels a bit like one of those huge decisions you could potentially end up regretting for the rest of your (well really its life).
When we went to pick up the bus the school district worker told us that of the three buses up for auction ours was the best one! Whether it is or not... it feels like home..... I can imagine a life here, adventures here, a beautiful journey here, and I am so excited to have this space to document all of these things!
