Guys we are making real progress and actually more or less have a completion date for the bus!!! I can't even tell you how excited that make me... I was looking back and realized we started this project almost 6 months ago, you can see our first post HERE. So here is a little peek into everything we have done in the bus this month...
Lights! My husband has a friend who is an amazing electrician and he came out and helped us run the bus for electric. When It is all said and done we will have twelve lights and the bus is all set up so we can plug into electric at campgrounds. This was a big step before working on the walls and I am beyond excited that we got it done and really owe it all to Ben's electrician friend who made this all possible because honestly neither one of us knew the first thing about running electric and having someone to help and tell us what to buy and where to put things was such life saver!
Oh and this same friend gave us a ton of old cedar fencing that we are repurposing to use for the walls in the bus!
On that same not the lights we will be putting into the bus came as well! We are working with Lights.com and just wait until these beauties are in! We are going for a more industrial modern look with the lights and I am beyond excited with how it turned out. Lights.com basically has everything you could ever want for your lighting needs and the quality is so awesome and I cannot wait until we have everything in and I can show you guys!
Cabinets! We went and bought cabinets this weekend for the kitchen... we actually are going to be returning some of them as we realized they don't quite meet our needs but we have a cabinet for the kitchen sink, this will also house the water tank and I am super excited it is actually starting to look more and more like a home! We are going with a farm house style sink and butcher block counter tops and fingers crossed it is going to be amazing. We spent most of the weekend installing the cabinets, and then scrambling to redo our layout when we realized we had to many and no space for anything else.
Also our refrigerator from Dometic came this week! This refrigerator is amazing it is a three way which means we will be set pretty much no matter what power source we are connected to. We would like to have solar at some point so this was important. I can't even tell you how hard it was getting the refrigerator into the bus... literally it was a tight squeeze and we almost thought we were going to have to take our framing down and bring it in the back which would have been completely heart breaking. The good news is we got it in and it is beautiful! Ben still needs to build a cabinet around it but I cannot wait until we are moved in and I can actually cook and use this kitchen we are working so hard to complete.
So up next we will be continuing to build cabinets and frame in the kitchen. Ben is going to construct a pantry and multiple shelves from scratch. We are also hopefully going to be running the plumbing soon for the shower and fingers crossed will be in the bus by the end of December!
Oh and we have been filming a lot and are planning to start posting videos on Youtube but... my laptop is ancient like 2006 old so we unfortunately have run into a snag where the footage we have filmed is too big for my laptop and until we get a new one we will not be able to create or edit videos, so please hang in there but I promise Youtube is coming!
