If you have followed us for any length of time you know we like to road trip! Having just finished up a Southwest road trip and getting ready for a Northwest trip in September I thought it might be time to share some of our road trip secrets and the general things we tend to do to make sure a trip is successful. Almost every single time we head out I get a million direct messages asking where we are staying, how we found good coffee, and how we manage to road trip and have fun with two small children. SO whether you are planning a road trip this summer or not if you have ever thought about packing your little ones up in the car and heading out this is the post for you! I should mention this post is sponsored by Firestone Auto Care AND all thoughts are my own.Read More
About three months ago we bought a cabin in the mountains. We broke the lease on our apartment, packed up everything we owned, and moved hours away from the city we lived and work in. This cabin is by no means perfect, it definitely has flaws, is probably too small for us... BUT we love every single inch of it and could not be happier with our decision to move. I have been getting so many questions and requests on Instagram to see the interior of the cabin and to know how we live in such a small space SO here is a little photo tour and what we have done with the place so far. We are honestly working on a very limited budget so the cabin is what it is flaws and all. Someday we have big plans to fix a few things and paint but for now this is home and we are so completely in love.Read More
In case you missed all our excitement and a ridiculous amount of beach stories on Instagram (if you want to see them still you can find our stories in our highlights under the highlight "travel" HERE) We went to Florida! This was honestly the first time I had been to Florida since I was 12 AND the girls first time ever so it was a huge deal! We spent the weekend exploring Panama City Beach and Jessamyn might ask when we are going back every single day... I am not exaggerating. I got a lot of messages about Panama City Beach and traveling with kids so I thought I would give you a quick recap incase you want to try this trip as well or are looking for a good getaway spot with small children.
Okay serious note can anyone remember the last time I did a style post? Yeah me either so as summer approaches and the dm's about where we shop pile up I figured now was as good a time as any to start them up again! I am really excited about this one because it is a brand you can order from home which with us living now 2 hours from the closest city being able to shop online has basically become the only way new style makes its way into our home. If you haven't noticed by my instagram I am also on a serious shoe kick and actually the number one item asked about in my dm's is shoes so this post is for everyone looking for a good summer shoe... and everyone else who didn't realize it but is probably looking for a good summer shoe too!Read More

We are eight months into this thing called motherhood, Well for me motherhood round two as Ophelia is our second… so I guess technically 3 years and eight months into this. When I was pregnant with Jessamyn I really worried about bonding, I struggled to connect with her while I was pregnant and wondered if that was a sign I wouldn’t connect after she was born. That wasn’t the case, but I couldn’t help but have similar fears with Ophelia and wonder if I would even have time to bond with her while also chasing a three year old around and maintaining that relationship. One of the first things I remember from Ophelia’s birth is the way she smelled. I know that sounds kind of crazy, but I really remember that new born smell and the way I just wanted to hold her and protect her from everything for the rest of her life. I think that smell for whatever reason is tied to the way I bonded with her. Even now at eight months she still vaguely has it and I am taken back to that first day when I held her and knew she was a part of our family.Read More
In case you missed all of my cabin photos and moving photos on Instagram we moved!!! AND not only did we move but we bought a house and are officially home owners again. We have been searching, and searching, and searching some more for the perfect home for us and finally found it in the form of an A-frame on 5 acres and just moved in last week! This has been a long time coming and I am so excited about it, like can't even put it into words. I asked on Instagram for all your questions about our new cabin and while this post will not answer all of them it will address the main one... security. The overwhelming question I got was how are we going to stay safe living in a cabin in the mountains? Yes there is wild life, Yes we are fairly remote living on five acres in the mountains, and yes we do have a plan to protect our home and our babies. So basically if you were wondering about the security of our home and how we plan on keeping our family safe... this is the post for you! Also if you are looking at purchasing a home security system but maybe live more remote, this is also the post for you!Read More
If you follow us on Instagram you know we went on a road trip last month and it was absolutely amazing. I am going to be documenting the things we did in each stop and this is part one. Moab is about a 5 to 6 hour drive from Denver and the logical first stop on our trip. We left mid day and stopped multiple times for coffee... because 5 hours may seem like a short drive but throw in two babies.. one who is kind of potty training and yeah we stopped a few times along the way. This was our first time to Moab and I was so excited and may have gone overboard on the research ahead of time! SO here are 5 things we did with a 6 month old and a three year old along...Read More
